Campaign: Hue Tribe Food Truck Initiative

Overview

Hue Tribe is a non-profit community organization dedicated to feeding the hungry, supporting neighbors in disaster recovery, and building resilient, caring neighborhoods. Our Food Truck Initiative aims to acquire a mobile food truck/trailer to provide nutritious, culturally-inspired meals to homeless individuals, families in need, and communities impacted by natural disasters. With a warm, welcoming presence and a commitment to dignity, we will serve fresh, hot plates and distribute essentials while connecting people to local resources.

Campaign Vision

Create a reliable, mobile kitchen that can reach people where they are—on streets, at shelters, and in shelter-in-place zones during disasters.

Normalize a respectful, non-judgmental dining experience that honors every plate with flavor, care, and cultural pride.

Build partnerships with local farms, bakeries, and restaurants to source fresh ingredients and reduce waste.

Recruit volunteers from within the community to cook, serve, and provide emotional support.

What We Will Do

Mobile Food Service: Operate a fully equipped food truck/trailer capable of cooking and serving hot meals, beverages, and fresh produce kits.

Disaster Response: Deploy to affected neighborhoods during natural disasters to provide immediate meals, water, and comfort items.

Homeless Support: Offer nutritious plates, hygiene kits, and information about shelters, housing programs, and job resources.

Community Kitchen & Training: Host pop-up cooking events to teach meal prep, budgeting, and sustainable living.

Fleet Partnerships: Collaborate with local businesses, farms, and nonprofits to expand reach and ensure sustainability.

How It Works

Fuel the Truck: Fund a food truck/trailer capable of serving 300+ meals daily with propane, steam tables, prep area, refrigeration, and safe waste management.

Donor & Volunteer Network: A community-driven network of donors, volunteers, chefs, and community liaisons.

Meal Service Model: Nutritious, culturally diverse menus with vegetarian and vegan options; free meals offered to those in need, with optional paid plates to sustain operations.

Resource Referral: Each meal includes resource cards for housing, medical care, counseling, and disaster assistance.

Why It Matters

Food insecurity spikes during disasters and economic downturns; a mobile kitchen brings relief where fixed facilities can't.

Dignified, no-judgment meals help restore hope and strengthen community ties.

Local partnerships cut costs, reduce waste, and support a resilient local food system.

Funding Goals

Starter Goal: $60,000 to acquire a vetted used or new mobile unit, retrofitted for safe food service.

Equipment & Safety: $20,000 for generators, refrigeration, handwashing stations, food safety equipment, and PPE.

Operations Reserve: $15,000 to cover permits, insurance, fuel, and initial staffing.

Year 1 Program Budget: $90,000 to sustain meals, distribution, and disaster response activities.

How You Can Help

Donate: One-time gifts or monthly sponsorships. Every dollar moves us closer to serving more plates.

Volunteer: Cooks, servers, drivers, logistics coordinators, and outreach ambassadors.

Partner: Local farms, restaurants, schools, faith groups, and businesses can host fundraising events, donate surplus food, or provide space for pop-ups.

Spread the Word: Share our mission with friends, neighbors, and networks.
